By way of introduction, this was provided by Robert Franke who served alongside the 776FA. Over the years he became close to several of the men of the Battalion and amassed a large amount of papers and things from the others. He provided this diary to Jake Johns, and it is now here for you to share in all it's very personal detail.

I will try to add links to pics of people and places if I have photos to add to the Real story of the brave young men who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and into Germany to support Gen. Patton.

For your aid I have provided 3 types of indexes, by Action, Date, Place.

Please note: "Quotations concerning the war in general taken from articles written by Sgt. Ralph C. Martin in "YANK" magazine."

Warning: Be prepared as it is about war, and the feelings that stir at the sight of horrors that come with it.
